Upgrading from Password Manager 4.1 Service Pack 1 and Password Manager 4.5
Caution: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Citrix cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.
When using Group Policy Object to upgrade from Password Manager 4.1 Service Pack 1 or Password Manager 4.5 to Password Manager 4.6 with Service Pack 1, the default Service path may overwrite the desired path. This error occurs if the Password Manager Service is installed somewhere other than the default location and the Password Manager Plugin installation enables Hot Desktop and the Account Self-Service service module. After such an installation and upon the first logon to Password Manager Plugin, the location of the Service is overwritten with the default location. As a result, the Account Self-Service features fail. To successfully connect with the Password Manager Service, after installing Password Manager Plugin, edit the system registry key BaseURL in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\MetaFrame Password Manager\Extensions\Server to reflect the correct Service location. Save the registry settings and then restart the computer. [#190945]
Service Configuration Fails if Computer Name Contains Characters Other Than ASCII
The name of the computer running Password Manager Service must not contain non-ASCII characters. If the computer name does contain non-ASCII characters, the service configuration will fail and the installed service modules will not start. [#179880]

Application Definitions for Web-Based Java Applets Cannot Be Created with the Application Definition Tool on 64-bit Computers
The Application Definition Tool, when running on a 64-bit computer, cannot create Web application definitions for Java applets. The tool successfully creates Windows application definitions for Java applications on 64-bit computers. [#191015]
Web Application Definition Must Include Multiple Window Class Names to Work Across JRE Versions
The window class name in Java Platform SE Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 has been changed to SunAwtFrame. In earlier versions, the window class name was variable. To use Web application definitions in an environment with multiple versions of JRE, the application definitions must identify both window class names. To provide the window class names in new and existing Web application definitions use the Class Information page of the Advanced Matching dialog box. In the Allow window class field, type the window class names as follows:
earlier_version_class_name;SunAwtFrame
Replace earlier_version _class_name with the actual window class name under JRE 5 or earlier. Do not use spaces. When revising a Web application created in a JRE 5 or earlier environment, the window class name will appear in the Allow window class field. See "To identify class information" in the Citrix Password Manager Help and Citrix Password Manager Administrator's Guide for details about locating and working with the Class Information page of the Advanced Matching dialog box.
Users with Non-Microsoft GINAs Should Connect to a Web Interface Site to Perform Self-Service Tasks
For supported operating systems other than Microsoft Windows Vista and Microsoft Windows Server 2008: If you have computers that are using non-Microsoft GINAs, omit Account Self-Service when installing Password Manager Plugin on those computers. Installing or enabling Account Self-Service on a computer that has a non-Microsoft GINA may cause the computer to stop responding. Users can connect to a Web Interface site to perform the self-service tasks. [#191974]
Successful Smart Card Logon May Require Selection of Microsoft Data Protection API or Smart Card PIN as Primary Data Protection in User Configuration
Logon to supported operating systems where Smart Card Certificate is selected as the primary data protection method may be unsuccessful. If your environment requires such a configuration, contact Citrix Customer Service. [#192692]
Updated Application Definition Templates for Web Interface 5.0 Logon Page Ensures Correct Plugin Response
Updated application definition templates for the Citrix Web Interface 5.0 logon page are available at the Citrix Web site (http://www.citrix.com/passwordmanager/gettingstarted). These templates, named Citrix XenApp Web Plugin (2-field) and Citrix XenApp Web Plugin (3-field select), replace the versions included with Password Manager 4.6 with Service Pack 1. Delete any application definitions created for Web Interface 5.0 logon pages with either two fields where there was no domain field or three fields where the domain field is a combo box (editable text field with a list of choices). Create new application definitions with the updated templates. This will ensure Password Manager Plugin correctly responds to the Web Interface 5.0 logon page. [#196733]
