Citrix is releasing this Security Bulletin in response to recently published information relating to security issues affecting NetScaler and Access Gateway Enterprise Edition.
Information recently released on the Internet has highlighted security risks associated with the use of the web-based Configuration Utility of NetScaler and Access Gateway Enterprise Edition.
Affected Products
This vulnerability is currently known to affect the following products:
• Citrix Access Gateway 8.0 Enterprise Edition
• Citrix NetScaler 8.0 (all editions)
Security Recommendation
As an interim workaround, Citrix is recommending that administrators follow the guidance below when using the web-based Configuration Utility:
• Ensure that all other browser windows are closed before accessing the web Configuration Utility.
• Ensure that no untrusted sites are accessed when connected to the web Configuration Utility.
• Ensure that sessions are properly logged-off and all browser windows are closed at the end of the management session.
When working with sensitive data in browser-based applications, it is considered best practice to ensure that this type of preventative measure is taken in order to maximize browser security.

Citrix is currently in the process of analyzing these issues; this document will be updated as the investigation proceeds.
